Popcorn - ]Overloaded1 40 points 3 years ago Not me but a friend of mine. We worked together at the movie theater doing the box office. Adult tickets were $7.50 a piece(6 years ago) and senior citizen tickets were $5. On busy Friday nights, he'd ring up about every other couple as a senior in the computer, but tell them the total was $15. He'd then pocket $5. Till was good, customer got in the movie. I know he bought a new custom built PC after a few weekends. permalink embed

Text - - youngnreckless 134 points 3 years ago My ex went through a klepto phase and stole about $300 worth of Xbox live memberships from a large retail company for me. She also stole the pair of scissors she used to cut those insanely robust plastic boxes open. We were caught but made it out of the store somehow. Fastest I've ever run in my life. permalink embed

Text - [-] skerley1979 3 points 3 years ago Better idea, or at least what I used to do. Most Wal-Marts have (2) sets of doors. Go in side A, and go back to the Electronics department. Purchase whatever item you are looking to 'steal later'.. Go out the same doors you came in (side A). Then immediately return back into the store (side B) with the receipt. Go back to the electronics department grab the same item. Walk back out the same door you just came in (side B) with the receipt. Now you have

Text - [-] IusedtobeCool Iswear 1518 points 3 years ago A bed. Completely by accident, actually. I went to the store to buy a new bed and so I naturally picked out the biggest one I could find and asked the guy working there in what I thought was a purely theoretical respect, "Hey, wou ld you help me carry all this to my car?"(What I meant was "if I end up buying it") He says, "Of course man, lemme just grab the box and the dolly." I thanked him and played on my phone while he and another guy ti

Text - [-] theivingthrowaway 87 points 3 years ago Back in 08-09 I bought a detacher (just the hook) for sensormatic tags used on clothing. Those are the hard plastic ones around the length of a finger that are attached using a pin. Was in NYC at the time and would go to a bunch of high-end stores such as bloomingdales and saks and would walk out with 1 $3000+ jacket. I'd go in well dressed so that the jacket wouldn't look out of place being carried by me. Find one I liked, drape it over by arm

Text - [-]I Dionysus 500 points 3 years ago I stole a safe with a Presidential rolex in it, a bunch of jewelry, $11,000 cash, some gold coins, some bonds that were worthless to me and I think that's about i... All-in-all, I made out with about $30,000. Most of the jewelry was personalized, so it was sold for the gold to be melted down and for the diamonds and whatever other jewels, and I went to Europe to sell the Rolex.

Text - [-dnuts4u 522 points 3 years ago well, not dollar wise i suppose, but... At our Wal-Mart they would take old DVD's and slap a sticker barcode on them when they got moved to the $5 bin. So me, being someone who loves to remove stickers figures one day that i could stick that over any UPC code, go through self-checkout, hit "skip bagging" and purchase ANYTHING for just $5.50 And it worked. Like. a. charm. Entire shelves of tv seasons, car audio equipment including amps, and 12" subs, househ

Text - [-] Treasure_hand 224 points 3 years ago A $1500 dollar assault rifle. I realized it belonged to a police officer and I wrapped it up in cardboard paper and left it under his patrol car the next night with a sorry note. But not before I put 200 rounds through. Beautiful machine Edit: policemen and women of reddit! Lock your patrol cars at night dammit when I was in my bad phase I opened countless parked patrol cars by lifting the damn handle! Most of you leave your service equipment in th

Money - [-] rada_rada_lag 180 points 3 years ago I had an accomplice that was a cashier. One day she handed me a a list of items she wanted from her store. I added what I wanted. When she rang it up she did it all as returns. At the end I gave her a few one dollar bills which she treated like $100s and handed me my "change". I walked out with about $500 in goods and another $500 in cash. i677 danwm DOLLAIEN 20 DG 26346405 9922 NDREEpo ESICINa 3280

Text - [- TheLateThagSimmons 296 points 3 years ago This and a clipboard and highviz can get you into many places. My brother's friends from high school stole a refrigerator and dishwasher from Sears by walking in the back door with long white lab coats and clipboards. They pointed at the units they wanted and told one of the stockers to put it on their (rented) delivery truck out back. He did. They drove away with it all. We asked them about what the white lab coats had to do with Sears. They s

Food - [-] [deleted] 124 points 3 years ago Once got half a dozen donuts from the grocery store bakery, shopped for the rest of my groceries while eating said donuts, paid for groceries. Driving home, it hit me that I didn't pay for any of them since they were in a bag and I didn't think about it, and the check-out clerk must've assumed it was just trash permalink embed

Text - [-] 1600cc 16 points 3 years ago When I was about 14 I found a barcode creator with several dozen barcode languages within a CD labeling program. The next step was just finding out which language my local store used, and how they formatted their existing barcodes... Which was as easy as scanning a barcode. permalink embed parent

Text - [- UnfortunatePoop 225 points 3 years ago Creating a throwaway for this. I used to steal blindly from the casino I worked at as a dealer. My friends were the accomplices. The whole camera thing is a load of shit, as the camera operators make no more than $12.00/hr, do you really think they are smart enough to catch me overpaying people at Craps? I did it on every game. Blackjack, I showed the next card at times, over paid, over paid when they were cheque changing larger chips, paid when t
